Bahia Mar Park

Bahia Mar Park is set on an elevated platform 25-feet in height overlooking the adjacent marina and Intracoastal Waterway. This new waterfront park will be larger in size than a football field and will be an especially unique destination for residents and visitors to gather year-round, boasting some of the best views in Fort Lauderdale. Created for the community’s enjoyment, the park’s “Great Lawn” will offer a substantial recreational green space for guests to walk, jog, picnic and play.

A series of plazas at the heart of the park will welcome guests, offering several shaded seating areas, landscaped terraces, sloped walkways and decorative lighting. The aesthetic value of Bahia Mar Park will be further enhanced with canopy trees, landscape art, an interactive water feature, public art features, a grand staircase and an outdoor special event area. In addition, Bahia Mar Park has been expressly designed to serve as the staging and exhibition area for the annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Green Building strategies and LEED principles are important components of the Park's design, and will be implemented to minimize the impact of development on surrounding neighborhoods and overall natural environment. Strategies include:

  • Utilizing Green Roofs
  • Florida Native Plants and Shade Tree Landscaping
  • Reducing Pollution to Adjacent Water Bodies
  • Minimizing Light Pollution
  • Maximizing Open Space
  • Utilizing Existing Infrastructure
